Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto ordered that the 2026 Hajj fees for Indonesian pilgrims will remain lower than previous years, despite global surges in aviation fuel prices threatening to inflate transportation costs.
"We have secured an additional Rp 1.77 trillion from the state budget's efficiency reserves to cover the spike in aircraft fuel costs, ensuring our citizens do not bear the financial burden," confirmed Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (8/4/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The government maintained a reduction of Rp 2 million in the 2026 Hajj fee (BPIH), bringing the total cost per pilgrim down to Rp 87.4 million, with participants only required to pay Rp 54.1 million.
This intervention utilizes annual budget savings to stabilize prices for 220,000 pilgrims amid international energy volatility.
