Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police confirmed that official vehicles using the dedicated Transjakarta bus lane are not exempt from electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) penalties and will be fined accordingly.

“As I’ve often said, all violations are captured by ETLE cameras—whether black-plate or red-plate vehicles. The system automatically blocks the vehicle registration,” said Metro Jaya Police Traffic Director Senior Superintendent Komarudin on Friday (6/6/2025).

He added that for official vehicles caught violating traffic rules, coordination is made with the respective institutions.

“If it’s a police vehicle, the data is sent to Internal Affairs; for military vehicles, it goes to Military Police,” Chief Komarudin said, as quoted by antaranews.com

Komarudin emphasized that ETLE is a fair, technology-based enforcement system that records the behavior of drivers.

Regarding viral footage of police officers saluting an official car in the bus lane, Komarudin said, “It’s common courtesy when officers salute official vehicles.”

The video was shared by Instagram account @fakta.jakarta, showing a government vehicle being escorted and saluted while using the Transjakarta lane.
