inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government committed to strengthen and complete the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program by forming a coordination team.
“We don’t want any risks. This is not about the numbers, but concerning our children. So, we are forming this coordination team where everyday we will continue to evaluate the MBG program,” says Coordinating Minister of Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan on Tuesday (11/4/2025).
Zulhas stated that the team's inaugural meeting was in accordance with Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 28 of 2025 concerning the Establishment of a Coordinating Team for the Implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program.
He stated that the team, which he chairs and is accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Pratikno and Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (PM) Muhaimin Iskandar, also focuses on several other strategic issues.
Some of these include aligning policies and resolving cross-sectoral issues between ministries, institutions, and regional governments, and is directly under and responsible to the president.
"There are 13 ministries and institutions, and there will be daily executives, because this (MBG) is a key program, the highest priority program. The government's success depends on this program, this MBG," said Coordinating Minister Zulhas.
Together with the Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, as the daily executive chair, the coordination team is also tasked with supporting the implementation of the MBG through synchronization, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and control of the program's implementation.
"As the daily executive team, there will be daily meetings here. Because the Nutritional Food Program is fundamental and large-scale. Imagine 82.9 million beneficiaries, the impact is significant, and the challenges are significant," said Coordinating Minister Zulhas.
Regarding governance, he stated that improvements will be regulated through Presidential Regulation (Perpres), so that each level, from the province to the district, has its own responsible and oversight body that complies with the regulations.
