Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Immigration and Correctional Affairs Agus Andrianto has proposed deploying Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) personnel inside prisons and detention centers to strengthen drug trafficking prevention.
“If necessary, we will deploy TNI or INP personnel in correctional facilities with high drug vulnerability to improve internal security,” he said on Monday (4/8/2025) during a coordination meeting, as reported by antaranews.com
The initiative follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and cooperation agreements between Imipas and the National Police.
According to the minister, the partnership is part of a broader institutional synergy to enhance public safety and support national priorities, such as combating narcotics, human trafficking, and food security.
The agreements include intelligence training for immigration officials and data-sharing protocols on inmates.
