Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police confirmed no local citizens have filed complaints related to the recent arrest of 11 Chinese men impersonating Wuhan police officers in South Jakarta.
“So far, no Indonesians have reported being scammed by the 11 Chinese citizens,” said South Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Nicolas Ary Lilipaly on Monday (4/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The arrests were made after police uncovered a residence in Cilandak used by the suspects to conduct online fraud operations. Two Indonesian domestic workers employed at the house have been ruled out as suspects.
“There is no indication the two Indonesian workers were involved. They were merely housemaids,”Chief Nicolas added.
The case is under investigation, and the suspects have yet to be officially charged. All 11 Chinese citizens have been handed over to South Jakarta Immigration, which is coordinating with the Chinese Embassy and Interpol.
