The government will prioritize social aid distribution to 4.2 million new beneficiaries, focusing on elderly individuals living alone, persons with disabilities, and families residing in unfit housing, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

“This policy follows a nationwide data verification of 18.7 million social aid recipients,” said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti on Friday. Their quotas will be redirected to more vulnerable groups such as single elderly, persons with disabilities, and poor families in inadequate housing.”
