Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government will prioritize social aid distribution to 4.2 million new beneficiaries, focusing on elderly individuals living alone, persons with disabilities, and families residing in unfit housing, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
“This policy follows a nationwide data verification of 18.7 million social aid recipients,” said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti on Friday. (7/11/2025) “We found 4.2 million families no longer eligible as they have stable jobs or income. Their quotas will be redirected to more vulnerable groups such as single elderly, persons with disabilities, and poor families in inadequate housing.”
She said that the update aims to improve targeting accuracy after identifying inclusion errors in previous datasets. New beneficiaries will be selected based on criteria such as low electricity usage, unstable income, and poor housing conditions, according to antaranews.com.
The data overhaul, Amalia added, is expected to ensure fairer, more transparent social aid distribution nationwide.
