inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Personnel of Mobile Investigation Subdirectorate of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police successfully arrested a man called Adji Subhi (20), who allegedly murdered a transvestite in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. He once tried to run away to Bandung, West Java.
Director of General Criminal Investigation of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Tubagus Ade Hidayat explained that the 20-year-old man was caught in an apartment in Bandung, West Java, last Friday (10/12).
"The perpetrator and its evidence were brought to Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police for further investigation", the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police said on Saturday (11/12).
Police Grand Commissioner Tubagus Ade Hidayat also stated that the case was exposed after the Subdirectorate of Mobile Investigation of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police received public information about a dead person at 07.00. Based on the information, Police then investigated.
Based on the investigation, the victim suffered stab wounds on their body.
"The victim was found naked in messy houses, and a Beat blue motorcycle numbered B 3166 PGS was also missing, in Krida Raya street, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta", he explained further.
Only a few hours later, Police arrested the perpetrator in the Gateway Apartment of Cicadas, Bandung, West Java, on Friday at around 13.15.
He explained that the incident was started when Adji met the victim through the MiChat application and agreed to do a same-sex relationship and often stayed in the victim's house.
On December 8, 2021, the victim went to the hospital because their father was sick. The perpetrator then took advantage of the situation to steal the victim's belongings such as a motorcycle, money, jewellery, and other valuable items.
The next day, that Palembang man took a knife hidden under the wardrobe and stabbed the victims several times on their body until they died. Afterwards, the suspect stole some belongings and their motorcycle and ran away to Bandung, West Java.
From the case development, the investigator found that the suspect is a recidivist from the steel theft case in Palembang in 2018. In November 2021, he also conducted similar action by stealing the Yamaha Xeon motorcycle of Lodaya building materials shop in Bandung, West Java,
The suspect also stole an Oppo A71 smartphone and the watch of someone in Central Jakarta. For his actions, he is subjected to Article 340 and/or Article 338 and/or Article 365 (3) of the Indonesian Criminal Code with the death penalty as its maximum punishment threat.
