Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Home Affairs distributed 10 million red-and-white national flags in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday, as part of celebrations for the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence and the 67th anniversary of Bali Province.

“This is not just a ceremonial event,  it’s a meaningful reminder of the struggle behind our independence,” said Bahtiar, the Director General of Politics and General Administration at the Home Ministry, in an official statement on Saturday (2/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The flag distribution, first launched in 2022, holds a national record for the largest mass flag campaign in Indonesia, recognized by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI). The campaign continues annually across all provinces, from Aceh to Papua.

Bali was selected this year for its strong historical legacy in resisting colonialism. Citizens, government bodies, and private institutions are urged to raise the red-and-white flag throughout August this year, as a show of unity and patriotism.
