inp.polri.go.id - Lampung. The Lampung Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate successfully uncovered a suspected case of human trafficking involving a minor victim on Tuesday (5/12/2026).
Lampung Regional Police Chief Inspector General Helfi Assegaf held a press conference on the crime of human trafficking involving minors.
Also in attendance were Lampung Governor Rahmad Mirzani Djausal and Bandar Lampung Mayor Eva Dwiana.
The chronology of this case is that the suspect, identified as SAS (17), is suspected of inviting and recruiting the child victim to work as a masseuse in Surabaya with the promise of a salary of IDR 2 million per week. The victims in this case are identified as R (15) and BAA (14).
"The suspect's modus operandi was to offer a job as a masseuse to a minor victim, then persuade the victim to travel to Surabaya and create a fake ID card to facilitate the victim's departure and employment," said Helfi Assegaf.
According to the investigation, the victim left Bandar Lampung for Surabaya on April 11, 2026, and was placed at a spa in the Surabaya area to work as a masseuse
This case came to light after the victim's family received information about the victim's whereabouts in Surabaya. The victim asked to be sent home because she was afraid.
The victim's family was also asked for IDR 10 million to return the victim.
The Lampung Regional Police successfully secured the victim along with the suspect and evidence including the victim's identity documents, screenshots of WhatsApp conversations, proof of flight ticket reservations, a suspected fake ID card, and a cellphone belonging to the suspect.
Helfi appealed to the entire community, especially parents, to increase supervision of children and to be wary of job recruitment schemes with the lure of large salaries that have the potential to lead to human trafficking.
