Hundred of People Investigated By Crime Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police Related the Case of Indosurya

inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Hundred of people were investigated by Directorate of Special Economic Crimes of Criminal and investigation agency (bareskrim) of Indonesian National Police. Director of Special Economic Crimes (Tipideksus) of Bareskrim of Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Pol. Helmy Santika, mentioned the investigation of Indosurya still continued. “Surely we have commitment to finish this case,” as explained by the Director of Tipideksus in Jakarta, Thursday (05/27/21). Bareskrim Polri will coordinate with the Attorney General's Office, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the banking sector regarding the case of the Indosurya Inti / Cipta Savings and Loan Cooperative (Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Indosurya). The Director of Tipideksus Bareskrim Polri mentioned his team would coordinate to get constructive input for the case. He also said coordination was required to collect the evidence. "After coordinating with the Attorney General's Office, PPATK, OJK and the banking sector, to collect the evidence, investigators will file a case against three suspects of the Indosurya case," as explained by the Director of Tipideksus, Bareskrim Polri. The one-star general said investigators were careful in handling the Indosurya case. Apart from still requiring additional investigation of witnesses and expert witness testimony, investigators must also accommodate other victims who had just filed a complaint against Indosurya when Bareskrim handled this case. “It also requires time as thousand documents need to be confiscated,” as explained by the Director of Tipideksus Bareskrim Polri. Furthermore, police have determined three persons as suspects in the Indosurya case. The three persons are Chairman of KSP Indosurya Henry Surya, Manager Director of Koperasi Suwito Ayub, and Head of Admin June Indria. In addition, Bareskrim also named KSP Indosurya as a corporate suspect. "The suspect Henry Surya submitted new evidence in the form of a decision on the peace agreement (Homologation) on the PKPU (Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations) lawsuit," explained the Director of Tipideksus, Bareskrim Polri. For the information, this case started when number of Indosurya Cipta Savings and Loans Cooperative’s customers did not get disbursement of their deposits that had matured in the cooperative, totaling IDR 14.6 trillion. The total customers of this cooperative are around 5,700 customers. This cooperative promised high interest returns of 9 to 12% per year, far above bank deposit rates which range from 5-7 percent in the same period.
