Rote Ndao Sub-regional Police has thwarted two trucks full of hundreds of litres of subsidized fuel from Kupang to Rote Island. “Police forces have secured two trucks in ASDP Pantai Baru Port, Rote Ndau Regency on November 8th and 9th who carried hundreds of liters of subsidized fuel without documents,” says Rote Ndao Police Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Mardiono quoted from Antaranews on Friday (11/24/2023). He reveals that the first truck with the plate number of DH 8394 G was suspected by the officials of carrying 800 litres of diesel fuel and kerosene about 35 liters. While the other truck with the plate number of DH 9501 G was carrying 800 litres of diesel fuel and 400 litres of kerosene. “When they were examined by the police, the drivers could not show the permit documents of transporting subsidized fuel,” explains Mardiono. According to Mariono, police had to investigate the case as the fuel transported allegedly the fuel subsidized by the government. The arrested suspect revealed by the police to be TMH (45), NST (27), JFP (43), and YN (28). The four criminals arrested by the police are said to be from Tesabela Village and dare to commit the crime as it provides them with huge profits. For their criminal action, suspect charged with Article 55 of Law No. 22 of 2001 concerning oil and natural gas with a maximum prison sentence of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 60,000,000,000.
