The East Java Regional Police deployed two Company-level Units, complete with one field kitchen vehicle and two search and rescue cars, to the location of the Mount Semeru eruption disaster in Lumajang Regency Saturday (4/12/21). Head of Public Relations Division of the East Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko, said that the two Company-level Unit troops that were dispatched consisted of one Company-level Unit of Mobile Brigadier and one Company-level Unit from Patrol Directorate for 200 personnel. "This troop is equipped with a field kitchen vehicle and two search and rescue cars," he explained. Police Grand Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko also said that a medical team from the Medicine and Health Field of East Java Regional Police also dispatched to help the Mount Semeru eruption victims. "From the Medicine and Health Field of East Java Regional Police have also been encouraged, along with the trauma healing team," he explained. The Head of the Public Relations Division explained that he would focus on evacuating residents in locations most affected by a volcanic eruption. "That is in Supiturang Village and Kobokan Village, Pronojiwo District and Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District," he explained. Police Grand Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko also explained that the victims would be evacuated to several evacuation posts, which have now established at several points. "So the focus is on that first," he said. The Head of Public Relations Division added that personnel from the Traffic Directorate of East Java Regional Police were also sent to help regulate traffic flow around the disaster site. especially on the route to Lumajang Regency from Malang Regency, because there was a closure of the Dampit-Lumajang Highway due to the collapse of the Gladak Perak Curah Kobokan. "So we will (ask) to turn through Probolinggo, access via Pronojiwo," he explained.
