Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Indonesian immigration authorities deported a 27-year-old Chinese fugitive from Bali to Guangzhou on Tuesday (3/2/2026).
The suspect, identified by the initials WY, who was wanted in China for trespassing and assault, had attempted to use Indonesia as a hideout after being denied entry to Abu Dhabi in late 2025. A joint team of four officers from the Directorate General of Immigration and the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center escorted WY to ensure a secure handover to the Chinese Bureau of Security.
"We emphasize that Indonesia is not a sanctuary for fugitives," said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman, reaffirming the nation's selective policy for foreign citizens, as reported by antaranews.com.
Suspect WY had been detained in Bali since 24 December 2025, following intensive coordination between Jakarta and Beijing. Officials noted that the operation highlights Indonesia’s commitment to international security cooperation and its proactive role in preventing transnational crime within its borders.
