Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is developing a Grand Strategy to enhance the role of the Indonesian diaspora in supporting national development.

“The main goal is to provide a strategic framework to optimize the potential of Indonesian diaspora worldwide,” said the ministry’s Director for Diaspora Affairs, Devdy Risa, during the Indonesian Diaspora Symposium organized by the Indonesia Diaspora Network (IDN) Global, monitored online from Jakarta on Sunday (2/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The strategy will outline the vision, mission, and key pillars for strengthening diaspora engagement, including governance models, policy recommendations, and a long-term roadmap. The final draft is expected by December 2025.

Devdy also said the Citizenship Bill is targeted for enactment in 2026, followed by implementing regulations and the launch of a “One Data Diaspora” platform. By 2029, the government aims to establish a National Diaspora Agency to coordinate diaspora-related policies and services.
