Inp.polri.go.id - Badung. The Indonesian Republic President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo welcomes the good collaboration between Indonesia BioFarma and Ghana Atlantic Lab Science. The collaboration becomes concrete evidence of a good relationship between Indonesia and Ghana, particularly in the health sector.

This was conveyed by Jokowi when holding a bilateral meeting with President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Casablanca Room, Mulia Nusa Dua Bali Hotel, on Monday (9/2/2024).

“I hope this cooperation could push the production of local vaccines in Ghana and support the vaccination program in other African countries,” says Jokowi.

In this meeting, the two leaders also discuss various ways to strengthen their bilateral relationship that has been nurtured for 65 years.

Jokowi also asked for President Akufo-Addo's support for the signing of Memorandum of Understanding about food and medicine supervising between the two states' supervising authorities.

On the other hand, Jokowi also suggested cooperation development in the energy sector, particularly in oil and gas exploration. Indonesia and Ghana, says Jokowi, must explore their cooperation in the oil and gas sector, including the establishment of an oil refinery in Ghana involving Indonesia.

"This cooperation is expected to increase added value and meet the energy needs in Ghana," said President Jokowi.

Furthermore, Jokowi also reaffirms the importance of cooperation in the development sector, which he said can be adjusted to the needs of Ghana.

“Indonesia is open to collaborate with Ghana in programs that fit the needs of Ghana through the mechanism of Indonesia Aid, including in technical support, scholarships, and vocational training," said the President.
