Inp.polri.go.id - Grobogan. Grobogan Sub-regional Police have detained six teenagers following a fatal sarong fight that claimed the life of a 16-year-old student on Wednesday night. 

The incident occurred at the Termas Village soccer field in Karangrayung District, where two groups of youths met for a coordinated brawl using sarongs with knotted ends as improvised weapons.

"All minors involved have been secured along with seven sarongs used during the fight, and the case is being handled under the Juvenile Criminal Justice System," said Grobogan Police Chief Superintendent Ike Yulianto Wicaksono on Thursday (26/2/2026).

The victim, identified as Zaki Mandala Rifki, reportedly collapsed with respiratory distress during the fight before losing consciousness. Although his peers rushed him home and later to a local health center, medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival. 

Authorities are processing the case under the Child Protection Act and have urged parents to strictly monitor their children's nighttime activities to prevent further tragedies.
