Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said industrial cooperation between Indonesia and Russia is growing stronger and more strategic, following high-level bilateral engagements in Moscow earlier this month.
“The relationship has moved toward a more substantive and comprehensive partnership, especially after the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and President Vladimir Putin,” he said on Saturday (13/12/2025) following Indonesia–Russia business meetings in Moscow earlier this month.
Minister Agus Gumiwang explained that bilateral non-oil and gas trade reached USD 3.9 billion in 2024 and rose to USD 4.04 billion by October 2025, while Russian investment in Indonesia showed steady growth. The cooperation covers shipbuilding, industrial research, trade facilitation, and supply chain resilience.
According to the minister, the collaboration involves government agencies, industries, and small and medium enterprises, aiming to improve competitiveness amid global challenges. Discussions also include logistics efficiency and the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement to expand market access.
