Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) confirmed 1,006 fatalities from floods and landslides across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, while reporting a steady decline in evacuees as conditions improve, officials said on Saturday (13/12/2025).

BNPB Head of Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Abdul Muhari said that the fatalities include 414 in Aceh, 349 in North Sumatra, and 242 in West Sumatra, while the number of missing persons decreased to 217 following field verification. Overall evacuees in the three provinces declined from 884,000 to 654,000.

Meanwhile, the number of evacuees in Aceh has dropped from 817,000 to 586,000 as residents gradually return home, he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The agency said aid distribution remains ongoing through air, land, and sea routes, delivering more than 60 tons of logistics on Saturday. BNPB is also accelerating bridge repairs to restore access and ensure faster humanitarian assistance.
