Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia claimed one gold and two silver medals at the 2025 Taiwan Open, reinforcing its dominance in Southeast Asian woodball.
“We had hoped for two golds, but this is still a proud achievement. It confirms our regional strength and offers valuable lessons ahead of the SEA Games in Thailand,” said Indonesian Woodball Federation (PB IWbA) Chair Aang Sunadji in Jakarta on Friday (16/5/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The women’s stroke team — Dwi Tiga Putri, Siti Masithah, Celsy Silviana, and Febriyanti — delivered the gold. Silver went to the men’s stroke team and Siti Masithah in the women’s singles stroke.
Aang noted that the weather and a format shift from 12 to 6 fairways per session posed added challenges. He said discussions with the International Woodball Federation would follow regarding consistent rules.
Indonesia was the top Southeast Asian nation at the event, with its only loss to host Taiwan, which does not compete in the SEA Games.
