Inp.polri.go.id - Mecca. Indonesia’s Hajj Mission in Saudi Arabia has urged Indonesian pilgrims to remain in their hotels on 8 and 9 June2025, warning of extreme overcrowding at the Grand Mosque during the Tawaf Ifadah ritual.
“The Grand Mosque will be extremely congested in the next two days with pilgrims performing Tawaf Ifadah. We urge Indonesian pilgrims to stay in their hotels,” said Muchlis M. Hanafi, the Head of Indonesia’s Hajj Organizing Committee in Saudi Arabia, on Sunday (8/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Pilgrims returning to Mecca after completing Nafar Awal ritual are shifting the focus of worship from Mina to the Grand Mosque.
To reduce risks, pilgrims are advised to pray in nearby mosques or hotel prayer rooms. The advisory followed Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah guidance.
