Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul has urged Indonesian citizens to remain vigilant after the South Korean government declared a National Disaster Emergency due to widespread wildfires in the country’s southeastern regions.
“We urge all Indonesians in affected areas to stay calm, closely monitor the situation, and follow local authorities’ instructions,” the embassy stated in an official announcement on social media on Wednesday (26/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The embassy advised Indonesian in Seoul to stay updated through the National Safety and Disaster portal at http://eng.safekorea.go.kr or the Emergency Ready App. In case of emergency, Indonesians can contact the the Embassy hotline at 010-5394-2546.
The wildfires, fueled by strong winds, began in Sancheong County, approximately 250 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on 21 March 2025 and have since spread to other regions. South Korean authorities are working to contain the fires as dry weather conditions persist.
