Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Indonesian citizens in the Philippines to remain vigilant following a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao in the southern part of the country on Friday morning (10/10/2025).
“The Indonesian Consulate General in Davao City has coordinated with local authorities and the Indonesian community, urging all WNI to stay alert for possible aftershocks,” said the Director for Citizen Protection at the Ministry, Judha Nugraha, in a written statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He confirmed that no Indonesian casualties have been reported so far. About 8,700 Indonesians currently reside in the southern Philippines. The consulate has also advised citizens to follow local advisories and contact the Consulate General if facing emergencies.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake’s epicenter was located about 127.9 kilometers from Davao City at a depth of 58 kilometers. A tsunami warning issued earlier has since been lifted by Philippine authorities.
