Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s national debt reached Rp9,138.05 trillion (around USD 572 billion) by June 2025, equivalent to 39.86 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP), the Ministry of Finance confirmed on Friday (10/10/2025).

“Our debt-to-GDP ratio at the end of June 2025 stood at 39.86 percent, a moderate and relatively low level compared to many peer countries, neighbors, and G20 members,” said Director General of Budget Financing and Risk Management Suminto, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He emphasized that the figure remains within a safe range. The debt consists of Rp1,157.18 trillion in loans and Rp7,980.87 trillion in government securities (SBN). Of the total, Rp6,484.12 trillion are rupiah-denominated SBN, while Rp1,496.75 trillion are in foreign currencies.

Starting this year, the government will release debt data quarterly instead of monthly to ensure credibility and align with quarterly GDP updates issued by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Suminto added.
