inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo gathered and conveyed the farmers' aspirations directly to President Prabowo Subianto. These concerns relate to welfare and increased production.
Sigit initially revealed that INP has collaborated with the Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (Himbara) Bank to facilitate the distribution of micro-enterprise credit (KUR) to meet farmers' production needs.
"This will be used to purchase seeds and fertilizers, pesticides such as herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides, as well as financing tractor rentals for soil loosening and land preparation, labor wages, and various other operational needs," Sigit said while delivering a report to President Prabowo Subianto at the second-quarter corn harvest, in Tuban Regency, East Java, on Saturday (5/16/2026).
Regarding this, Sigit expressed his hope that President Prabowo would support strengthening access to Micro-Enterprise Credit (KUR), both in terms of ease of access and increasing the amount of credit that will be used to open new land, as well as supporting the upstream and downstream processes.
"This will allow farmers to boost their production capacity, business independence, and rural economic growth," said Sigit.
Furthermore, Sigit explained that to date, 714 corn farmer groups assisted by INP across 42 precincts and 8 regional police stations have utilized this facility, with a total loan of IDR 30.03 billion.
Sigit further conveyed the farmers' aspirations to President Prabowo. Among them, the farmer groups hope to receive more agricultural machinery, seeds, and fertilizer.
"Furthermore, the farmers hope to receive more assistance related to seeds, fertilizer, and agricultural machinery, to support increased production," Sigit concluded.
