Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed police units in disaster-hit provinces across Sumatra to accelerate recovery efforts ahead of Ramadan 2026.

“The INP Chief has directed that all basic needs and conditions in disaster-affected areas must be fully prepared before Ramadan arrives,” said INP Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo on Sunday (28/12/2025) during the deployment of disaster-response equipment in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra. .

The instruction applies to three provinces impacted by recent floods and landslides, with regional police chiefs ordered to immediately map and inventory urgent needs. The focus includes restoring infrastructure, ensuring clean water access, and rehabilitating mosques and prayer halls for worshippers.

Police units have also been told to organize community clean-up efforts and prepare essential items such as carpets and Qurans for damaged places of worship. Ramadan is expected to begin in February 2026, leaving limited time for comprehensive recovery.
