inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. An award from the world's largest organization, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), was presented to the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. This is the first time the ITUC has awarded an award to a state official.
This marks a historic milestone for international labor history as awards are usually given to labor activists or social figures.
Andi Gani Nena Wea, President of the All-Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPSI), stated that this award is a token of appreciation for INP Chief's commitment to opening democratic spaces for workers. General Sigit has even established a labor desk.
"INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo received an award from the global labor confederation ITUC, which has more than 300 million members in 170 countries," said Andi Gani at the Indonesia Arena GBK on Thursday (July 10, 2025).
He explained that the presence of a Labor Desk within the police force is significant in helping workers obtain legal justice.
He stated that the ITUC greatly appreciates INP's efforts, leading to the decision to award this award. He emphasized that this award is not merely symbolic, but a form of global recognition for the concrete steps taken by the Indonesian government, particularly the National Police, in protecting workers' rights.
