inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo says several extortion attempts were found towards the people who are visiting recreational places during Christmas and New Year Holiday in West Java.

In light of this phenomenon, General Sigit ordered his personnel to handle this issue and intensify their patrol to ensure public safety and comfort on their holidays.

“We are aware that people tend to choose shortcuts, thus we instruct personnel to do sweeping, particularly during the peak of holiday season. Previously, we have received a report of extortions to the people, and in light of this problem, the joint patrol of military and police, along with related stakeholders to ensure that people can enjoy their holiday comfortably,” says General Sigit on Friday (12/27/2024).

General Sigit emphasized that public movement to tourist destinations is growing. Vehicles going outside Jakarta towards tourism places in West Java can already be seen.

“Continue to improve your chemistry and solidarity between all related stakeholders in securing the Christmas and New Year Holiday Season so that the security operation can be going optimally and the public can be served well,” urged General Sigit.
