inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Animal Police of the Indonesian National Police (INP)  together with the Faculty of Law of Trisakti University, the Directorate of Narcotics Interdiction of DJBC, and Garis Creative held a National Seminar entitled "Collaboration Between Institutions to Optimize Tracking of Illegal Goods at Airports with Tracking Dogs/K-9".

This seminar is part of the Animal Community Education (Dikmas Satwa) program which aims to provide a deeper understanding to the student community regarding the role and function of the K-9 tracking unit owned by the Police and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

The event, which was held in the Auditorium of Building D of Trisakti University, was divided into two segments, namely an academic seminar hosted by Giok Kinski Maharani Detri and a demonstration performance of a simulation of tracking narcotics and explosives by the K-9 Detachment Unit.

In his remarks, Senior Superintendent Gatot Aris Purbaya, Head of the Police Tracking and Prevention Sub-Directorate, emphasized the importance of collaboration between related institutions in optimizing the use of tracking dogs or K-9 units in combating the circulation of illegal goods.

"Collaboration between institutions is very important so that we can maximize the potential of the K-9 unit. With this collaboration, we are confident that we can strengthen efforts to eradicate the circulation of narcotics, explosives, and other illegal goods at airports," said Gatot Aris.

The Faculty of Law of Trisakti University hopes that this seminar can produce in-depth academic studies on the effectiveness of K-9 regulations and implementation in monitoring illegal goods at airports, as well as policy recommendations to improve cooperation between the Directorate of Animal Police and Customs in K-9 operations.
