Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) confirmed Thursday(31/10/2024) that a Ministry of Communication and Digital employee is under investigation for alleged involvement in an online gambling network.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau, said that the probe is being led by the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police under the supervision of the INP's Criminal Investigation Agency.
"We are currently questioning the Ministry’s employee to further investigate the case,” he said, withholding specific details on the suspect or his/her role in the network.
INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has emphasized a nationwide crackdown on online gambling, prioritizing asset tracing and collaboration with other agencies to block associated websites and accounts.
ChiefTrunoyudo reassured that police efforts against illegal gambling, drug trafficking, and smuggling will continue as part of a broader commitment to uphold national interests and prevent financial losses to the state, as reported by antaranews.com.
