Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian Military have launched joint large-scale patrols down to the neighborhood level to prevent looting and restore public order following recent unrest in several regions.
“On the orders of the INP Chief, I have instructed all provincial and district police commands to immediately conduct joint patrols with the military. The aim is to secure communities against rioters and anarchist groups,” said INP Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo on Sunday (31/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He stressed the patrols cover residential areas, ensuring there is “no space for anarchy or vandalism.” He warned that anyone attempting to loot or damage facilities will face firm legal action.
Beyond neighborhoods, police have also reinforced security at stations and barracks nationwide to safeguard state assets, detainees, and hazardous materials.
Authorities urged residents to remain calm, avoid disinformation, and report suspicious activity.
Chief Dedi said the TNI–police presence would be firm yet professional, emphasizing human rights while working with communities to restore order.
