Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Water and Air Police Corps has deployed 200 officers to assist in evacuating residents affected by severe flooding in Bekasi, West Java on Wednesday (5/3/3035).

"We have stationed teams at eight locations since the floods began," said Water and Air Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Yassin Kosasih, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Aerial assessments indicate Babelan district is among the worst-hit areas, with many homes still submerged.

Evacuation teams, equipped with inflatable boats and life jackets, are prioritizing high-risk zones, including the Pondok Ungu area. Other police units, such as Mobile Brigade, have been mobilized for security and traffic control.

"We've implemented mitigation efforts, including evacuations and relocations to safer areas," said INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko.

The floods, triggered by extreme rainfall since Monday, have submerged homes and public facilities across seven districts.
