Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno condemned the actions of a neighborhood unit, RW 02 Jembatan Lima, Tambora, for issuing a circular requesting Eid Al-Fitr holiday allowances, locally known as THR, from local businesses.

“That is clearly wrong. No warning letter is needed—it’s already inappropriate,” he said on Friday (14/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com..

He saw no need for further guidance to RT/RW officials, as they should already understand that soliciting THR from companies is improper. However, he acknowledged a common practice of requesting contributions for security and sanitation staff, which he deemed acceptable within reasonable limits.

Tambora Police Office Chief Senior Inspector Kukuh Islami confirmed that RW officials were questioned and admitted to issuing similar requests in previous years without specifying mandatory amounts.
