inp.polri.go.id - East Manggarai. The effort to search for the disaster victims of landslide in Goreng Meni Village, Lamba Leda District, East Manggarai, continues. To the third day of the search, the joint rescue team is still doing their best in searching for the victims in the middle of extreme weather and difficult terrain.
Chief of East Manggarai Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Haryanto says that the search continues at 07.00 am, Tuesday (1/27/2026) by dispatching all the available forces.
“This marks the third day of the victim search. The joint team is doing their best at the search locations,” says Haryanto.
In the search operation, the team is using simple tools such as hoes, shovels, crowbars, machetes, sensors, and a water sprayer. Limited equipment presented a challenge for officers in the field.
Chief Haryanto explained that several obstacles were encountered during the search operation, including difficult terrain with rocky material, ongoing rain, slightly damaged road access, and outages in communications and electricity networks around the disaster site.
"Despite facing various limitations, all personnel remain committed to continuing the search while prioritizing safety," he stressed.
