Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Regional Secretary of Jakarta, Joko Agus Setyono implores the public to not invite their families or their neighborhood from their hometown back to Jakarta without any sufficient skills.
“On this occasion, I asked all who will go back to the hometown, and when returning back to Jakarta to not invite your families or neighbors in your hometown to Jakarta if they are not prepared or have sufficient skills,” said Joko on Thursday (4/4/2024).
He noted that those who came to Jakarta are at risk of having difficulties if they did not have the proper skill and work preparation. This is considering that the job requirement in Jakarta is tough.
“The risk that they would face, such as being unable to meet the administrative requirements for occupation, access to work, and finding a suitable and permanent place to live," explained Regional Secretary Joko.
However, the Jakarta Regional Government did not have any plan to do any justice operations for Jakarta newcomers or registering their data to anticipate a surge in population after the 2024 Eid homecoming.
“Technically, the government cannot forbid or limit the movement of its people going from place to place, we can only advise them not to,” said Joko. Joko only wished those who came to Jakarta have the proper preparation and have clear objective with what they are going to do in the city.
