Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung requested on Saturday (21/3/2026) that Indonesians migrating to the capital after the Eid holiday prepare all necessary identification and administrative documents to ensure a legal and orderly transition into the metropolitan workforce.
"Jakarta will not conduct identity raids, but we ask anyone wishing to work here to complete all administrative requirements," Governor Pramono Anung said during a press conference at City Hall, as reported by antaranews.com
The provincial administration anticipates a surge of 10,000 to 12,000 newcomers seeking employment following the annual homecoming season. While the administration has scrapped traditional "yustisi" operations or forced identity checks, officials said that migrants must possess specific skill sets and proper residency documentation to compete in the current economic climate.
Despite the expected influx, data suggests a downward trend in migration compared to previous years due to shifting global geopolitical and economic conditions. The Governor reiterated that while Jakarta remains open for opportunity, newcomers must act responsibly by aligning their capabilities with available market demands to maintain urban stability.
