inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Provincial General Election Commission (KPU) has announced that it will move the location of the second debate for the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election from Ecovention, Ancol, to Beach City International Stadium, North Jakarta.

Jakarta KPU member, Astri Megatari, said that the change of debate location was not without reason. According to her, representatives of the Jakarta Provincial KPU have conducted a survey to Ecovention.

Astri Megatari also mentioned that a Music Festival will be held in the area which will be attended by tens of thousands of music fans.

"After we coordinated with the police and also the Ancol management, the police suggested that the location be moved as they feared that there would be a mass buildup. Coincidentally, the concert will be going from noon until night, so it is certain that two huge masses will meet at some point," explained Astri Megatari on Saturday (10/26/2024).

Astrialso explained that her party has been looking for another place and decided that the debate will be on Beach City International Stadium, North Jakarta. She said that the capacity of the place is more than enough as the place was usually used for international concerts.

"In terms of security, the police have given their approval, thus we decided to use that place as the debate location from the previous Ecovention. It just so happened that the place was available on that date," she concluded.

Although the location has been moved, the debate will be held at the same time as before, namely at 19.00 pm and will last for 150 minutes. The television stations hosting the debate are TVRI, CNN Indonesia, Kompas TV, and BTV.
