Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Culture on Sunday (14/12/2025) facilitated a dialogue with the Surakarta Palace, better known locally as Keraton Solo, royal family in Jakarta to encourage unity and strengthen the preservation of the Surakarta Palace as a national cultural heritage site.
The meeting was held following the royal family feud over the successor of the late Sultan Pakubuwono XIII and aimed to gather aspirations from various royal family members.
Culture Minister Fadli Zon said the government acts as a neutral facilitator to ensure constructive dialogue.
“We hope Keraton Solo becomes more conducive and better preserved as an important national cultural heritage,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The dialogue involved royal figures and palace institutions to discuss succession, governance, and sustainable management of heritage assets. Minister Fadli emphasized consensus, or musyawarah, as the main approach to resolving internal dynamics.
He also reiterated his ministry’s commitment through tangible support, including the 2025 revitalization of Panggung Songgo Buwono and the Keraton Solo Museum, to ensure long-term cultural continuity.
