Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. This Friday (5/4/2024) marked the onset of the homeward-bound traffic flow from Jakarta, the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police said.
Senior Superintendent Latif Usman, the Director of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police, predicted that by Friday afternoon, the movement of vehicles heading eastward from Jakarta had commenced.
"We anticipate an increase in movement towards the east, particularly after Friday prayers," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief Latif elaborated that the implementation of one-way traffic for homeward-bound flows, as outlined in the joint decree (SKB), had been enacted and publicized since the previous day, with enforcement measures underway since morning.
"In addition, by 2 pm, we expect that no three-wheeled trucks will be operational," he added.
Chief Latif also noted that to alleviate traffic congestion at the Cikunir Toll Gate, the Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll had been activated.
He said that traffic density would peak at 3 pm, with further increases expected around 6 pm.
There was a 7 percent surge in homeward-bound traffic on the Jakarta-Cikapek Toll on Thursday.
