inp.polri.go.id - Sidoarjo. The joint rescue team managed to find 15 victims under the rubble of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School prayer room that collapsed on Monday (9/29/2025).

Head of the National Search and Rescue (Basarnas) Operations Direction and Control Sub-Directorate (RPDO), Emi Freezer, said that of the 15 victims, eight were in dire condition while the other seven were in danger.

"Of the seven victims, six of them are in the side column that cannot be accessed directly and can only be accessed through a small gap in the main column," he said on Wednesday (10/1/2025).

In his statement, he mentioned that another victim who was near the main column still could give a response but could not move his body because he was crushed by the landing.

He explained that during this crucial timing, or during the first 72 hours after the incident, the entire joint rescue team will continue to prioritize the evacuation of the seven victims by continuing to provide oxygen and food supplies.

Until now, all communication with the seven victims is done using voice interaction, while for visual interaction, the joint SAR team uses a special camera that can penetrate small gaps under the rubble.

Furthermore, he added, to date a total of 11 victims have been successfully evacuated from under the rubble by the joint rescue team.

Of the 11 victims, three of them died, namely one victim was reported to have died in the hospital on Monday (9/29/2025) and two others on Tuesday (9/30/2025).

Meanwhile, regarding the exact number of victims still under the rubble, authorities have not been able to accurately confirm.
