Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. President Joko Widodo assures there are no plans to accelerate the schedule of 2024 Regional Heads Election from November to September. He affirms that the election would still be held on November 27th, 2024.

“As of now, we have no plan to move forward the Regional Head Election schedule,” said Jokowi after his visit to Pasar Baru Karawang on Wednesday (5/8/2024).

The schedule for the Regional Heads Election is on November 27th, 2024. However, the Indonesian House of Representatives has suggested moving forward the schedule.

One of the considerations for the idea is to avoid the absence of regional heads on January 1st, 2024. However, the Constitutional Court has prohibited the schedule change and affirmed that the election would still be held in November 2024 according to the Regional Head Election Law.
