Inp.polri.go.id – Bontang. Following his visit to Samarinda, the Indonesian President Joko Widodo continues his visit to Bontang City on Thursday (2/29/2024).
Upon arriving in Bontang, the president was welcomed by the East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Nanang Avianto, Muwarman Regional Military Commander, Major General Tri Budi Utomo, Acting Governor Akmal Malik, and other key regional officials.
In his second day visit, the president and entourage are scheduled to inaugurate the factory of Kaltim Amounium Nitrat (KAN).
During the inauguration, Jokowi appreciates the efforts in building Ammonium Nitrat Industry as 21% of the product in Indonesia is still imported.
“With the construction of KAN, we will suppress the 21% to 13%,” said Jokowi.
Furthermore, Jokowi also stated that with the completion of KAN Factory, it would also add more raw material for npk fertilizer, and hoped that Indonesian productivity in food sector would be more independent as the investment of IDR 1.2 trillion would not be in vain.
“I want continuous expansion so that we have the substitution for imported items,” said the Number One Man in Indonesia.
Jokowi also continue, that he wants Indonesia to be finally free from imported items as he seeks to improve its production domestically.
