inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo inaugurates the Margatiga Dam in East Lampung Regency on Monday (8/26/2024).

“The construction of this dam has started since 2017, meaning it has been under construction for seven years. So we are grateful that it can be officially operated today," said President Jokowi on Monday (8/26/24).

Jokowi says that the dam will be used for clean water procurement for the locals and also for irrigation.

Other than inaugurating the dam, Jokowi also planted trees at the edge of the dam as part of preserving conservation at the Lampung water resource infrastructure.

The Margatiga dam has the capacity to store and hold water for 42.31 million cubic meters and a flooded area of 2,217.84 hectares.
