Tjahjo Kumolo, S.H., stated that his party, along with BKN will soon hold a special employee selection for indigenous Papuans. "The short-term task that must be completed by the ministry of menpan-RB (KemenpanRB) is to immediately cooperate with BKN to prepare new employees, specifically indigenous Papuans, who will later be placed in the planned three expansion provinces in Papua," said Tjahjo in a virtual briefing, Monday (9/5/2022). Moreover, Kemenpan-RB is also tasked with placing indigenous Papuans in all ministries and institutions. He added that this policy was in accordance with President Joko Widodo's directives and should be implemented starting this year. "It must be implemented in 2022 as directed by the president," he added. As previously reported, Indonesia is said to have three new provinces which are divisions of Papua Province. With the addition of this new province, there will be 37 provinces in the country. The plan to form a province in the eastern tip of Indonesia is regulated in a bill on the Province of South Papua, Province of Central Papua, and Province of Papua Central Mountains. The bill was ratified by the Legislative Body of the DPR RI in a plenary meeting on Wednesday (6/4/2022). In the plenary meeting, all factions in Legislative Body agreed to the bill on the three provinces.
