"The King is committed to helping Indonesia rehabilitate its national park ecosystems, building on successful ongoing projects," Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said at London Stansted Airport, confirming that the partnership will prioritize biodiversity conservation and environmental beautification.
The collaboration builds upon existing conservation efforts in Way Kambas, Lampung, and Peusangan, Aceh. The Peusangan project utilizes 90,000 hectares of land previously donated by President Prabowo to the state for management by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), as reported by antaranews.com
As the patron of WWF-UK, King Charles III discussed specific strategies for elephant conservation and climate resilience with the Indonesian delegation.
