Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named five suspects following a sting operation over alleged bribery linked to tax audits in mining sector at the North Jakarta Tax Office,
The case stems from an operation conducted on 9 and 10 January 2026, involving tax officials, a consultant, and a company staff member.
“After securing sufficient evidence, KPK has designated five individuals as suspects,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu during a press briefing in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
The suspects include three tax officials accused of receiving bribes and two private-sector actors alleged to have paid them to influence audit outcomes during the 2021–2026 period. KPK said the bribery was intended to manipulate tax assessments, undermining state revenue and public trust.
All five suspects have been detained for an initial 20 days, from 11 to 30 January 2026, at KPK’s detention facility in Jakarta, as investigators deepen the probe.
