Inp.polri.go.id - Bandarlampung. Lampung Regional Police Chief Inspector General Helmy Santika announced on Wednesday (19/3/2025) that a man has been named a suspect in the fatal shooting of three police officers during a cockfighting gambling raid in Way Kanan, Lampung.

The suspect, identified as Z, was allegedly aware of the gambling operation from acquaintances and received an invitation via WhatsApp and Facebook. The raid was conducted on Monday, led by the Negara Batin Police Office Chief. 

Upon arrival, officers fired warning shots, but multiple gunshots were exchanged, resulting in the deaths of three officers.

Authorities have seized Rp 21 million in cash, along with evidence related to the illegal gambling operation. Four officers confirmed witnessing an armed individual at the scene.

"We are committed to ensuring a thorough and transparent investigation to bring all responsible parties to justice," said Helmy.
