Leli Marlina, Fadli Immammudin Carry Indonesia’s Flag at Paris 2024 Paralympics

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Table tennis player Leli Marlina and cyclist Fadli Immammudin carriedIndonesia’s flag at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Leli, the sole Indonesian para table tennis athlete, competed in the TT5 classification at the ASEAN Para Games 2023 and the Asian Para Games 2023 but did not win medals. Fadli, a former motorbike racer who lost his leg in an accident, won three medals at the Asian Para Games Hangzhou 2023, including gold, silver, and bronze.

“It’s a special moment for me, and I’m proud to represent Indonesia,” said Lei, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Indonesia showcased Indonesia’s cultural diversity through traditional clothing during the ceremony. The delegation includes 11 athletes, 13 officials, and six chef de mission members. 

The parade was held at Place de la Concorde, marking a historic first for the Paralympics.
