inp.polri.go.id - West Sumbawa. The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police continue to improve their monitoring around the waters of the Alas Strait and Poto Tano Pier, West Sumbawa, on Tuesday (18/02/25).

The Director of NTB Regional Police Marine and Air Unit, Senior Superintendent Andree Ghama Putra emphasized that the patrol is part of the initiative from his party in maintaining order in the water areas.

“This activity demonstrates our commitment in maintaining order and providing a sense of security to the fishermen, tourists, and the locals,” says Andree.

He further explains that the patrol was to also ensure there are no law violations in the water areas and provide an education to the people on the importance of safety while on the waters.

During the patrol, the unit inspected several ships sailing around the location. According to their examinations, all ships have met the safety standard, along with their documents.

“The fishermen and the tourist ship operator are also continuously reminded to pay attention to the weather before sailing and always to bring their safety equipment,” concludes Andree.
