Inp.polri.go.id - Selatpanjang. The Meranti Sub-regional Police in Riau have intercepted a major drug shipment from Malaysia, seizing 30 kilograms of crystal meth, over a thousand narcotic vape liquids, and bottles of “Happy Water Lamborghini,” a psychotropic drink disguised as a legal beverage.
“This network was directly controlled from Malaysia and smuggled via sea routes to Merbau Island before being distributed across Riau,” said Meranti Police Chief Superintendent Aldi Alfa Faroqi during a press briefing on Thursday (9/10/2025), joined by Riau Regional Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Jossy Kusumo and local officials.
Four suspects were arrested following a four-day investigation that began with a citizen’s tip about suspicious activity in Tasik Putri Puyu District. The police pursued the suspects into the forest, where they recovered the drugs packaged in “Chinese Tea” bags, according to antaranews.com.
Authorities estimate the seized meth could have reached 100,000 users, warning the bust likely prevented widespread youth addiction in the region.
