Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police arrested Lokataru Director, identified as Delpedro Marhaen, on allegations of inciting students, including minors, to commit acts of violence during a protest that escalated into riots in the capital. Authorities said the arrest followed witness testimonies and evidence pointing to his role in mobilizing young people for anarchic demonstrations.
“We arrested him after gathering a series of witness statements and material evidence that indicated his involvement in provoking unrest,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syamon Tuesday (2/9/2025), as quoted by antaranewes.com.
Police alleged the Director of Lokataru, a civil society organization, spread false electronic information that triggered chaos, violated Indonesia’s Criminal Code and Electronic Information and Transactions Law, and exploited minors in breach of child protection laws.
Investigators said the unrest occurred near the House of Representatives (DPR) building, Gelora Tanah Abang, and several other Jakarta areas from 25 August 2025.
